ams OSRAM expands the NIGHT BREAKER LED portfolio: the new NIGHT BREAKER LED C5W ECE and four SMART models ensure particularly easy retrofitting.

• With the NIGHT BREAKER LED C5W ECE, OSRAM Automotive is introducing the first ECE R37 approved¹ LED signal lamp for 12V vehicles, making the switch to LED lamps 
• significantly easier.
• Cross-border approval: certified for use in all countries that are contracting parties² to the ECE regulations, including the European Union and many other markets.
• Portfolio expansion: new NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART models for HB3, H9, HIR2 and H19 bring modern LED technology to an even wider range of vehicles.

Premstätten, Austria and Munich, Germany (05.12.2025) – Following the successful launch of the NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART ECE H11 for headlights, ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS) is continuing its series of innovative LED retrofit solutions. In addition to the new NIGHT BREAKER LED C5W ECE, the first ECE R37-approved LED signal lamp, the company is in-troducing four more road-legal³ SMART lamp types: NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART HB3, H9, HIR2 and H19. This enables ams OSRAM to further expand its portfolio of LED retrofit solu-tions and to open up new application areas for an even wider range of vehicle models.

ECE-compliant retrofits made easy – NIGHT BREAKER LED C5W ECE
The NIGHT BREAKER LED C5W ECE is approved for all 12 V vehicles in all UN ECE member countries and offers a universal solution for all applications where a C5W lamp is specified. With ECE R37 approval, garages, fleet operators and end customers can dispense with time consuming checks of headlamp or vehicle approval numbers – as well as the need to carry official approval documents or apply additional information labels.
The new LED solution impresses with its easy installation and wide range of applications – from interior and reading lights to door and entry lighting through to side marker lights and license plate illumination. This makes OSRAM Automotive’s solution a simple plug-and-play upgrade for numerous vehicle models.
With its modern, cool white light of up to 6000 Kelvin, the C5W ECE ensures a particularly premium appearance. Compared to conventional halogen signal lamps, it offers up to 80% lower energy consumption, delivering a noticeable increase in efficiency, especially for fleets and vehicles with high electrical demand. In addition, the LED technology boasts a service life up to five times longer than that of traditional signal lamps, significantly reducing replacement effort and cost.

Flexible retrofitting with the extended NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART range
With the addition of the HB3, H9, HIR2 and H19 types, OSRAM Automotive is responding to the growing demand for road-legal3 LED retrofit solutions. The new NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART models make it possible to equip even more vehicle models with modern LED technology. While the HB3 LED, H9 LED and HIR2 LED are being introduced as new variants, the innovative NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART H4 can now also be used as an H19 replacement thanks to a separately available adapter ring and dual marking. The technical specifications of the new models are identical to those of the NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART products already available.

The NIGHT BREAKER LED C5W ECE and the new NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART models will be available from retailers soon.
