NIGHT BREAKER LED SPEED ECE H8, HB4 and H16 – ECE-approved LED retrofit lamps from OSRAM Automotive

Premstätten, Austria and Munich, Germany (30. September 2026) – The transition from halogen to LED
technology is becoming even easier: ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS) expands its portfolio of ECE-approved LED
retrofit lamps with the NIGHT BREAKER LED SPEED ECE H8, HB4 and H16. The new lamps expand the
options for retrofitting the respective halogen lamps in 12V applications covered by the approval.

Following the introduction of the NIGHT BREAKER LED in 2020, the practical plug-and-play NIGHT BREAKER LED SPEED H7 in 2024 and the NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART ECE H11 in 2025, OSRAM Automotive is further expanding its ECE-approved retrofit offering.

The new NIGHT BREAKER LED SPEED ECE H8, HB4 and H16 combine easier installation thanks to their 1:1 design with advanced OSRAM Automotive technology. They hold type approval in accordance with UN ECE Regulation No. 37; the E1 marking indicates that the approval was granted in Germany. For 12V applications covered by the approval, there is no need to match headlamp approval numbers, carry official approval documents or apply stickers.

The NIGHT BREAKER LED SPEED ECE H8, HB4 and H16 are approved as 1:1 replacements for the respective halogen lamps. They deliver modern, bright white light with a colour temperature of up to 6000 Kelvin. Their impressive light output contributes to good visibility, while glare for other road users remains up to 50 percent below the legally permissible maximum values².

Compared with conventional halogen lamps, OSRAM Automotive retrofit lamps offer up to six times longer
lifetime thanks to LED technology and a specially developed vibration-resistant design³.

They have been tested in OSRAM Automotive’s DIN-certified environmental simulation laboratory for extreme
external influences in terms of water and dust ingress and validated with IP protection class IP55.
