Once again Osram is supporting the Camerimage International Film Festival
The company will be showcasing its low UV radiation metal halide lamps for film and event lighting
At the Camerimage International Film Festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland, which takes place this year for the 23rd time, Osram will be presenting its range of lighting solutions for film work. In keeping with the slogan “Light is performance”, visitors to Osram’s booth from November 14 to 21 will be able to see the products put through their paces. The main focus will be on the innovative HMI UV-Stop (UVS) metal halide lamp which reduces UV emissions by almost 99,9 percent. This Osram lamp is impressive not only for its high light output and excellent color rendering but also for its exceptional safety.
The annual Camerimage Film Festival is a highlight not only for movie buffs. In addition to movie presentations, seminars and workshops it provides an overview of the latest developments in film equipment and production technology. As a lighting and projection expert, Osram is supporting the event together with other specialists in camera and lighting solutions, such as Arri, the Munich-based manufacturer. Once again, Osram is showing its commitment to the medium of film, for which it has already won two Oscars.
The HMI metal halide lamp – low UV radiation, high output
Thanks to their long life, high light intensity and a color temperature approaching that of natural daylight, metal halide lamps revolutionized movie set lighting 40 years ago. Even now, they are standard equipment for filming all over the world. At Camerimage, Osram is unveiling the HMI UVS, a further development of the halogen lamp. Its new quartz bulb filters out UVB and UVC radiation from the light, giving this HMI a highly effective UV-Stop feature (UVS). As a result, ultraviolet emissions are reduced by almost 100 percent. With a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin, a luminous intensity of up to 100 lumen per watt and a color rendering index in excess of 90, this halogen lamp meets all the requirements of modern movie set lighting. The HMI UVS is available in seven dimmable versions from 200 to 1800 W and is suitable for film, TV and studio lighting.
